A downloadable game

Another Night is a fan-game based off of NomnomNami's Syrup and the Ultimate Sweet, as well as the demo of its in-development sequel, about a specific night in the life of a specific candy golem. Join her on a quest to not be bored, or something along those lines?? Made for Gumdrop's birthday, 2022!!

Content warning: depictions of self-hate and discussions of suicide.

There are references of/spoilers for the Candy RPG demo in this game, but it should also still be perfectly understandable without having played through that. There are references of/spoilers for the Lonely Wolf Treat games, as well.

Also, this game does not have music. It does have some ambience and some sound effects, however. I would recommend putting something soft and peaceful to play it to.

It takes around 30-90 minutes to get to the end. Hopefully you enjoy it, if you decide to give it a play through!!

Story & Art by Blackberry Mochi, Characters & Setting belong to NomnomNami

Additional Characters belong to npckc and Team Shanghai Alice

I cried alot, happy tears

i finally obtain the energy to play this and it was delightful! it took 4 hours to play it due to my limitations......

an extremely exquisite game for our beloved candy golem!!! with both detailed writing and enchanting atmosphere! the interactions were vivid and the story was nice~ i enjoyed playing it A LOT! the description of deep feelings is powerful. and the dialouge and general chatting is warm and thoughtful! i truthfully love how you deal with gumdrop's situation...! and everyone's...! the emptyness... right?

the cleaning process and all that walking around really carried you to the story...  then happy to see moxie and gumdrop met and chat. after that, the familiar and the golem, it's soooo meaningful to have a chance peeking at each of their experiences... and happy to see their relationship goes!

you've done a great job representing their personality. i was also happy to see all the details from the original game and comics haha~! and guest characters as well~!

though it was kind of frustrating that rpgmaker games don't have replay or history... as always... but i guess it also gave me the feeling of reality... that you wouldn't know what they said and what they did after things happened......

anyway thank you for making this mochi...! oh gumdrop...... a cute! lovely!!! and wonderful!!! fan story inbetween timeline pointing our beloved candy golem!

Oh 4 hours holy crap. YOUR DETERMINATION IS INCREDIBLE... Thank you for giving this lil game such dedication!! Really glad ya liked it!!! I know I really love it, even if, cursed being that I am, the art is rather messy, pff...

Will say that the lil VN that I've also made, Still Trying, is kind of a sequel to this??? In some way??? Only tangentially, though. And it's pretty intense, so eh!!! Can't say I really recommend it unless you're in a specific sort of mood, even if I really like it, pff.

Either way, yes, thank you for playing and thank you for enjoying it!!!

why of course! i most certainly will!!! i'm really curious about the vn too!

you know, i tried to read your dedicated novel "A Cat and A Witch", but... it has 1706 page in pdf reader?!!!?! you seem to put your whole heart into it, and that is admirable!!!!! my phone can't jump to certain page just to make it double trouble...

so i might as well read your vn first...if it's optional. i mean i don't know if i should read "A Cat and A Witch" first...? also, i'm looking forward to your work in progress fanfic~! but should i read it before "A Cat and A Witch"? anyway keep up and the best work!!! ♥

Oh A Cat and A Witch was just something that popped into my head (IN AN EXTREMELY ROUGH FORM) one day when I was like "God, I don't know how to write Toffee at all", pff. It's just a little AU Backstory thing about Toffee/Butterscotch that's like..... excruciatingly non-canon, but I just wanted to write some themes and oops it ended up being the length of a book. With a lot of ellipses. One may say too many ellipses, and that may be true!!! Next lil fanfic has far fewer.

But also now that the confirmation had been made that "Oh Toffee literally isn't an orphan" with recent canon stuff, I've kinda just been like..... hmmm...... This doesn't work anymore, so my more recent fan stuff is only vaguely following the stuff there (i.e, Butterscotch did something for Toffee that made them decide she's somebody they want to be with/love, and Butterscotch is protective/motherly towards Toffee. Or something???)  since I like being at least slightly canonically accurate!!! I still really like it, though. And I mean maybe Toffee lost their parents at some point... Who knows...  (HOPEFULLY NOT THOUGH!!! I WANNA NEET THEM!!!)

Either way, definitely no intended order for anything honestly!! They're all rather standalone. The next thing I'm writing will be pretty standalone too but it does tie into Still Trying but I'M RAMBLING AT THIS POINT AAAA. Point is: read whatever the heck you wanna read in whatever order. A Cat and A Witch is Quite Long, so don't feel pressured to read it!!

ahhhhhhh i see! thank you for explaining it to me! good to know they're standalone, i will read them anytime soon~ and i guess fanfic doesn't really need to be canon, i'd like to think they're some aus or possibilities. but anyway... has the most fun creating them the way you like~!!!

I JUST GOT BACK FROM PLAYING IT!!!!

TvT I've been eyeing this for a while since you posted about it, but I only very recently managed to find the time to actually sit down and play it in its entirety. Though I love Gumdrop's character as she is, it was really nice getting to see a more emotional side to her character and seeing her finally open up a bit more. It's comforting in many ways because I tend to get attached to characters like Gumdrop really easily due to my own insecurities over irritating others with my less enjoyable emotions. Sometimes, I feel as though I'm not even meant to or allowed to experience them. So seeing Gumdrop shift from that dynamic to present a more vulnerable version of herself as she actually sorts through her feelings feels consoling in a way,, I really enjoyed it.

I loved all of her interactions with the other characters, and I think you did a good job at conveying their personalities well too!! Her interaction with the sleepy florist made me genuinely tear up a bit. Though, there was one segment during it at the very beginning where the dialogue was repeated, but it wasn't jarring enough to break the immersion!

Also, also!! The guest characters and their interactions were really adorable. I really loved getting to see npckc's characters and thought that you channeled their personalities really adorably :">

Thank you for making the game. I had a really fun time getting to play it <333
